Conectividad Transcontinental: La Iniciativa del Cinturón y la Ruta y su Influencia en América Latina. Un Estudio Bibliométrico.

La Iniciativa de la Franja y la Ruta (BRI), lanzada por China en 2013, se ha consolidado como una de las estrategias geopolíticas y económicas más significativas del siglo XXI. Este estudio bibliométrico, basado en 204 documentos extraídos de la base de datos Scopus, analiza la producción académica sobre la BRI en América Latina, con el objetivo de identificar tendencias, vacíos y patrones de colaboración científica. La metodología empleada incluye herramientas como Bibliometrix, VOSviewer y Datawrapper, lo que permitió realizar un análisis detallado de redes de coautoría, mapas de coocurrencia de palabras clave y distribuciones geográficas de publicaciones. Los resultados revelan que China lidera la producción científica sobre el tema, con una representación limitada de autores latinoamericanos. La literatura se concentra en temas macroeconómicos y geopolíticos, mientras que áreas como la sostenibilidad ambiental y las dinámicas locales permanecen subrepresentadas. Además, las redes de colaboración internacional muestran una integración periférica de América Latina en comparación con regiones como Europa o América del Norte. Se destacan vacíos críticos, como la falta de especificidad regional y la insuficiente exploración de los impactos sociopolíticos y ambientales de la BRI. En conclusión, se resalta la necesidad de investigaciones más inclusivas y regionalizadas que consideren las particularidades de subregiones como los Andes y el Caribe. También se recomienda fomentar colaboraciones académicas más equitativas e interdisciplinarias, y desarrollar marcos metodológicos integradores para evaluar de manera integral los impactos de la BRI en América Latina.
