El Ejercicio físico en enfermedades metabólicas: Mapeo científico y análisis de tendencias. Una revisión bibliométrica

RESUMEN
El presente estudio aborda el análisis de la producción científica sobre el uso del ejercicio físico como tratamiento para enfermedades metabólicas mediante una revisión bibliométrica. El objetivo principal de este fue identificar patrones y tendencias en la literatura científica, determinando las áreas de mayor impacto y desarrollo. Se utilizo una metodología basada en el análisis de datos bibliométricos extraídos de la base de datos Scopus, examinándose un total de 726 documentos publicados entre 1954 y 2024. Los resultados revelan un crecimiento sostenido en la investigación sobre este tema, con una tasa de crecimiento anual del 4.98%. Se identificaron 511 fuentes principales, incluyendo revistas y libros, que han contribuido a la difusión de investigaciones en esta área. La colaboración entre autores es notable, con un promedio de 6.71 coautores por documento, y el 19.42% de los artículos presentan coautorías internacionales. Los temas emergentes y las raíces históricas del ejercicio físico como terapia en enfermedades metabólicas también fueron explorados, destacando la importancia de las investigaciones que han moldeado este campo. Las conclusiones subrayan la necesidad de continuar explorando áreas poco investigadas y de fortalecer la colaboración internacional para avanzar en el conocimiento. Además, se identifican posibles limitaciones en la literatura actual, lo que sugiere direcciones futuras para la investigación.
